Don't like what you see?

Yeah, me either.  I think I gave up on this blog since it didn't let me do some of the creative things I wanted.  It is very well likely that it does, but I don't have time to search through vague settings, so I am making a jump.  You can jump with me over to the new blog!

I hope to keep things more up to date there.  Hope to see you there!!

Partnership

Being a woman is not always as easy as it looks.  Sure we can't stand when we pee, and our shoes and bag have to match the occasion, but we get to do something that men can not.  While I doubt that they are green with envy, even the most macho of men can't deny that it is the most amazing, spectacular, awesome, yet gruling and painstaking task a human can go through.  Yet women agree to God's will and carry life, a precious child that God entrusts them to raise into grown men and women.  It is an interesting partnership that only a woman can enter with God.  While men may understand the complicated biology of life, they can only imagine the spiritual aspect of creating life.  It truly is an act of love, and for someone you have never even met face to face!  I have had the honor and joy to be a partner with God in the journey of creating life four times.  While at times I may have felt less than spiritual on my journey, I can still remember the awe I felt at knowing that a future person was protected within me.  I see my children now, and I wonder how we got from a lump under my shirt, to a little man who is going to pass me in height shortly.  But I can still remember how that partnership felt for those 40 total amazing months.

On October 18th I witnessed an act of love so amazing I am still awe struck.  My dear cousin (through marriage, but is more my cousin:) Kate gave birth to a son.  While I had been there myself, and having worked for an OB in his office I had yet to be present for a birth.  As any mom who has been there knows there is no modesty in "birthing babies", yet it was no doubt when Kate was the most beautiful.  The presence of God was there, and when it was all done both mom and baby were sound and resting.  Simply amazing.  The name of the little man was kept a secret till his arrival.  Dad had his moment and announced:  Azariah Langsdon Godsey.  II Chronicles 15:7 has the prophet Azariah telling the ruler Asa, "But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded."  Yes indeed.  Right now our country is in turmoil and we feel frustrated and don't know what the answer is.  The headline on CNN says that 3 in 4 Americans is in fear of the direction of our great nation.  If only we could all look to the words of Azariah the prophet.  I am honored to have been a small part of Azaraiah's debut, and I hope he reminds me to remember to be strong, and to not give up!

Thanks Kate, Marcus, and Azariah!  May you be blessed ubundantly and daily.  And to all moms, I appreciate all that you do in your partnership, and remember be strong, don't give up!!!

Inspiration

So I haven't written in ages.  I haven't felt that I needed to say anything.  I have been too overwhelmed with dealing with all the daily change, and chaos to really sit down and get stuff out of my head.  I guess it happens to us moms, but I need to purge thoughts and ideas.  It always made me feel better when I did, so I guess I will try again.  I don't even know if anyone reads this, but it is really more for myself than for anyone anyhow.

Over the last year we have added a dog, changed cats, added a gerbil, 3 crabs, and a kid.  Yes a kid.  Not ours, but sometimes I wonder.  Kaila is one of the girls in our youth group who happened to need a home and a family while she finishes her senior year.  It is interesting having a teenager in the house when all we have known is tweenies and toddlers.  But we are managing.  We have learned that being organized keeps momma happy, and communication keeps us all happy.  But none the less the Mundy tribe is a little larger this year.

We tried a virtual school program for the 3 older Mundy kids but it was not working for Noah.  He needs the guided socialization he gets through programs for him at school.  As much as I didn't like it, we decided to place them all back in Bethel schools this year.  We will see where we go from here.  But Annika likes being the only one here during the day again, she has us all to herself!  Aaron is plugging away at school and work.  He will be done with his Associates degree on June, and then he will be done with his Bachelor's the next June.  So in 18 months Aaron will be done!  I can't quite say the same for myself.  I will be done with my Associates in June, but I am still looking to enter the RC program next fall, which will add 2 more years.  All I can say is don't go into the medical field!  It takes forever!!

Other family news: Aaron's family is expanding!  Cousin Kate is due in a week, and I am waiting for a phone call to high tail it to Springfield to attend to Kate and Marcus at the birth.  I am very excited for the arrival of little "Al".  And it is an honor to be asked to share in such an amazing moment for a family.  Kate and Marcus are amazing people, and will make amazing parents!  Yet they are not alone, there are 3 other cousins who are expecting to add to their families as well.  I think one of the aunts counted and there will be 11 babies under the age of 4!  Holy fertility batman!!  I am also excited that my sister, Deb is moving closer to us!  Deb and her husband, Dean have moved to Huntsville Alabama for Dean's new job.  He was contracted previously, but this is a permanent position.  We get to have our first family holiday this Thanksgiving, and I am very excited to see her and show her my little home.

That is all that I can think of to bring things current.  I am hoping to do this again more often than once a year!
