One day at a time.
So I feel that I have to look at things one day at a time. Just when I felt that I was getting into a routine with all that we have going on... More things to juggle get thrown at me. My house is a mess since we are never home. Makes me question how there is a mess if we are not here to make it? Hmmm....
So I have some things that I am dealing with as a soccer coach. You never know what kind of people you are going to be working with. It just so happens that I have to deal with a "passionate" parent of one of my girls. Not an easy thing to take care of. But it needs to be done. One of Aaron's grandmother's sisters, Aunt Alice passed away on Monday. The funeral was today. I had to think about it and I had not been to a funeral since I was 4. For the math people who read, I will be 30 next week, so it has been roughly 26 years. I went to the funeral for my cousin David. He was 10. They had an open casket, but there was also a net type thing over the opening of the casket. It's a blur to me in my memory. I went to the memorial for a girl I was friends with and went to school with. I was 9, and she died in front of all of us on the school bus. Although I witnessed the tragedy of her death, the funeral was private and her friends were allowed to go to the memorial. My step dad's dad passed away that year as well. There was no funeral, only a memorial for him as well. He was creamated and his urn was present at the memorial. I was 20 when one of my childhood best friends brother passed away. Patrick would have been a junior I think, well I guess going into his senior year when he finally lost his battle with brain cancer. It was rough to loose a vibrant young man you watched grow up with. There was a huge memorial at a big scenic park. There were so many people there. But since then I have not had to attend such an event till today. I think that now that Aaron and I have family reaching that age range we may have to attend more sooner than we would like to.
In other news I managed to get into a humdinger of an accident on I275 on Tuesday. Yes my new van, which I have yet to make our first payment on. I hydroplaned towards a semi, managed to vere her the other direction and I tested the guard rail on the southbound lane as you approach the bridge next to Coney Island going into Kentucky. The good news is that the guard rails work really well, and no one was injured. The bad news is that my van goes into the shop on Monday and we will see how things go from there. I truly feel that God was guiding all the trafic that morning. I honestly can't explain how not one car hit us, how I didn't hit that semi, or how we managed to not get a single injury. God was in that van!!
I hope that my next post will be filled with something along the lines of, "I am so bored, I don't know what to do with all this free time I have!". Nahh!!!
